It was lightly outfitted with weaponry, under the [[Civilian Auxiliary Military Forces Act|Civilian Auxiliary Military Forces Act (CAMFA)]], but never saw combat and was never officially commissioned as a CAMFA vessel. It was instrumental in keeping the [[Hermes]] sensor outpost supplied, on several occasions.
