First Division, also referred to as the "Nightstalkers", is a combined arms unit of the Ground Forces Command.
History
Established in February of 2020, just prior to the outset of the War of Secession, First Division was established to reinforce landing parties as well as to capture and hold territories against local forces attempting to disrupt activities in the area. Over time, First Division became known as the "Nightstalkers" for their nighttime raids on enemy shipyards and anti-orbital sites.

Organization
First Division is a combined arms division, with a focus on mechanized and mobile infantry. Despite this, however, First Division maintains two tank regiments, and an artillery battalion, as well as integral logistics and medical detachments to allow the division to operate without outside support in an emergency. Many of the subordinate units also include attached medics.
Subordinate Units
First Armored Regiment
:Personnel: 644 Officers & Enlisted
:Tanks: 136 (128 Mark I Main Battle Tanks, 8 M1a Command Tank) + Additional Ammunition Haulers and Personnel Transports
The First Armored Regiment was raised on Sanctuary during the War of Secession, to support First Division during ground operations. Originally operating captured vehicles with a mix of recently constructed Mark I Main Battle Tanks (MIMBT), the regiment was converted to operating solely Initiative-built tanks before the end of the war. Following the end of the war, the First Armored Regiment primarily became used for garrison duty.

Second Armored Regiment
:Personnel: 644 Officers & Enlisted
The Second Armored Regiment was added to First Division almost at the end of the War of Secession, as the need for further armored units on the battlefield became apparent. The Second Armored Regiment was used to support the division during some of the final battles of the war, relieving the fatigued First Armored Regiment and smashing through enemy units.
First Mechanized Infantry Regiment is divided into twenty infantry companies of one-hundred soldiers each, not including the drivers. The First Mechanized Infantry Regiment was established just prior to the War of Secession, in order to create a rapid, well-armed force capable of rapid movement in the face of superior enemy forces, either for responding to emergencies or retreating. Following the end of the war, the First Mechanized Infantry Regiment was tasked with garrison duties, used to police worlds known for unrest, as well as being rotated to less problematic worlds for training and rest.
