|BackgroundData=Ethan Walker took the loss of his wife hard and distanced himself from his son. Born into the suspicion and paranoia of the native population of [[Tien]], Walker grew up under the stigma of the [[Sovereign Colonies Conflict|Sovereign Colonies revolt]] that still burdens the natives of Tien today.

The Initiative Education Centers encouraged the children of Tien to be fanatically loyal to the Initiative and Walker took to this perspective with a will. Walker grew even more distant from his father after Ethan publicly denounced the perceived “brainwashing” going on in the IECs.

Given Walker's excellent physical and academic performance, and his feud with his father, who had come under government scrutiny, he was singled out from his graduating class to attend the [[Serenity Base|ISD Training Facility on Serenity]]. While attending the ISD Training, Walker underwent genetic enhancement to improve his vision, cognition and reflexes. The ISD posted Walker, under various cover identities, in multiple different positions across Initiative space, both to give him experience in many different fields and test his ability to adapt and improvise.

In [[2500]], a terrorist cell, dedicated to acquiring prototype weapons, was uncovered on [[Asam]]. Walker was inserted into the cell in order to gather information and derail the cell's plans. Walker promptly fell off the radar. After three months of silence from Walker, GFC raided the cell's suspected safe house and found Walker waiting for them. He had systematically executed the entire cell two days prior and salvaged all the data that the cell had acquired on a new Initiative bio-weapon.

Walker spent the next six months in confinement while ISD debriefed him. He was reprimanded for completely eliminating the terrorist cell, leaving no one to interrogate. He was cleared of suspicion and rotated back onto active duty.

Walker went deep undercover on [[Arkadia]] in [[2501]] to investigate allegations of corruption and treason in the planetary government. He was pulled from his assignment on Arkadia after the [[Heart of Winter Incident|''Heart of Winter'' incident]]. The ISD has unofficially attached him to the expedition.
|Personality=Borderline psychotic with sociopathic tenancies, Walker can take on any personality that he deems will get him results. When not trying to manipulate people, he has a tendency to be arrogant and direct. He is professional and driven when it comes to his duty and he wholeheartedly believes that the ends justify the means. Completely loyal to the Initiative, he is none the less paranoid against any action he takes that may be treasonous.
