History
The SFCV Mímisbrunnr (C16) was laid down in 2023 CE at The Hive on Sanctuary. The Mímisbrunnr would be commissioned the following year, in 2024 CE, immediately joining up with the fledgling Second Fleet to fight in the ongoing War of Secession. The vessel served through the remainder of the war, being deployed over the People's Republic of China during the Fall of Earth to block any anti-orbital missile launches.
Following the Fall, the Mímisbrunnr was responsible for orbital security over operations taking place in east Asia and the pacific, before withdrawing in 2036 CE, carrying another wave of troops and colonists back towards Sanctuary as part of the planned withdrawal from the Sol System. The ship would remain in service, supporting colonization efforts in several star systems.
It would be decommissioned in 2131 CE, and scrapped later that year.
Namesake
The SFCV Mímisbrunnr (C16) was named for a well associated with the entity Mimir in Norse mythology. Legend has it that the well was beneath the world tree, Yggdrasil, and that its waters contained much wisdom. Allegedly, the water of the well is the source of Odin's wisdom, at the cost of one of his eyes.
