The SFCV Vanaheimr (C14) was a Swordsman-class cruiser that saw service during the War of Secession and into the early 22nd century.

History

The SFCV Vanaheimr (C14) was laid down at The Hive in 2022 CE, but wouldn't be commissioned until 2024 CE. The Vahaheimr would join the newly formed Second Fleet. The Vanaheimr would not be present for the Fall of Earth, instead being deployed assisting in evacuating ground forces in North America in an emergency, and providing fire support.

Following the Fall of Earth, the Vanaheimr would serve as a transport back to the Arc System as part of the first wave of combat vessels taken off the front lines to serve as troop transports, in preparation of the withdrawal from the Sol System in 2037 CE. Eventually the Vanaheimr would be decommissioned in 2130 CE.

Namesake

The SFCV Vanaheimr (C14) was named for one of the Nine Worlds of Norse mythology. In mythology, Vanaheimr was home to the Vanir, a group of Nordic gods associated with wisdom and fertility, as well as the ability to see the future.
