The Black Planet is a legend referring to a supposedly lost colony.
History
The legend of the Black Planet arose less than a century after the colonization of Sanctuary. In the legend, the Governing Council of the Initiative , fearing that the United Earth Forces might overrun the Arc System's defenses, established an outpost on another world, as far from Earth and Sanctuary as possible. According to the legend, contact with this outpost was lost shortly after it was settled for unknown reasons.
As a result of this legend, numerous explorers have gone missing while for the supposedly lost colony, in search of any artifacts or equipment left behind, as well as the prestige of having located it.
