Dracar Heavy Industries is a privately-owned business within The Initiative, noted for it's emphasis on research and development, as well as military contracts for tanks and skilled personnel to aid in repairs and upgrades for warships.

History

Dracar Heavy Industries (DHI) was established during the War of Secession on Sanctuary as a private business, to support the growing needs of Terra Casus and other cities. As the company finished the immediate needs for construction and other heavy planetary-based industries, they began to convert their factories to produce equipment for newly-constructed warships, before managing to gain contracts to assist in building entire hulls.

When the war finally wound down, Dracar Heavy Industries was one of the few companies able to retain some military contracts, helping to upgrade, repair, and maintain sections of the fleet, as well as outfitting various vessels for deep-space exploration. When the next great wave of colonization came about, DHI attempted to remain competitive, with limited success. They would see a comeback in more recent years, however.
