The SFCV
Julius (B10) was the last
Templar-class battleship launche during the
War of Secession. It served until the 24th century, when the
Praetorian-class battleships replaced it.
History
The SFCV Julius (B10) was constructed at The Hive on Sanctuary, with the key portions laid down in 2029 CE, before it was launched incomplete in 2030 CE. Because it was incomplete, it was used as a transport as the need for battleships diminished. Following the end of the war and the quarantine of the Sol System, the vessel was unofficially mothballed until 2057 CE when it would formally be completed. Following that, the vessel was assigned to help patrol the colonies, until 2342 CE.
In 2342 CE,, the Julius was transferred to the Colonial Authority, to aid with colony transports. It would eventually be lost, captured by a group of pirates while en route to a new star system.
Namesake
The SFCV Julius (B10)] was named for the Roman general and dictator, Julius Caesar. He solidified much of the power of Rome into a single position, and set about making numerous reforms to the government before he was assassinated.
