Laid down in

David Drake was launched in
2050 CE as part of an effort to scout out and find additionally resources to aid with the new resource drain created by the large influx of refugees following the
War of Secession.
Namesake
The RECV David Drake (PS-04) is named for a pre-War of Secession author, whose ideas and experiences inspired the design of parts of the Initiative's equipment and tactics.
