Terra Casus, or "Landfall", is the oldest city on the surface of Sanctuary, and serves as the capitol city.
History
Located in a coastal region on Sanctuary, Terra Casus is centered around the original landing site of the exploration team that discovered Sanctuary. Years of prior planning went into the city, giving it a subterranean industrial sector, and requiring private residences and large-scale businesses to maintain an ecologically friendly footprint, including urban parks. Further planning went into the inclusion of raintraps, rooftop farms as well as vertical farms for native crops, and renewable power sources (solar and tidal power, primarily). The city mandated that any extraterrestrial crops (such as from Earth) had to be grown in biodomes, to prevent the possibility of ecological contamination and subsequent degradation.
The city rapidly increased it's population, due in part to a high birthrate, as well as the large influx of new colonists. Within a year, smaller cities and towns were established, such as Aesgard, Tukaso, and Rosewall, and facilities such as The Hive, The Central Military Academy, and Central Control being established to support the growing needs of the city.
