“ | What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow Out of this stony rubbish? Son of man, You cannot say, or guess, for you know only A heap of broken images, where the sun beats, And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief, And the dry stone no sound of water. Only There is shadow under this red rock, (Come in under the shadow of this red rock), And I will show you something different from either Your shadow at morning striding behind you Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you; I will show you fear in a handful of dust. |

The Journal of the Prophet is a artifact of major cultural significance to the Talros Theocracy.
History
Purported to have been created by the Prophet of the Talrosian Doctrine, this leather-bound journal chronicles his time stranded in the deserts of Kapu, in the Alendiel System. Within it's pages is said to be an account of the visions and revelations he was bestowed by divine powers, allowing him to reconcile a number of religious texts he found. The journal went missing for some time, during the events of the Sovereign Colonies Conflict, before being rediscovered among a number of religious artifacts recovered by The Initiative following the end of the conflict. Recognizing it's potential historical significance, the Initiative returned it to the fledgling Talros Theocracy, where it would remain in the Grand Museum on Isard, until 2503 CE when it was stolen by parties unknown.
