The SFCV Dardanus (B3) was the third Templar-class battleship. It saw service, and was ultimately destroyed, during the War of Secession.

History

The SFCV Dardanus (B3) was constructed at The Hive on Sanctuary. The vessel was launched in mid-2020 CE. The ship was part of a task force created to harass Earth's fleet, during the early days of the War of Secession, until more vessels were brought online. When Central Command established Second Fleet, the Dardanus was chosen as the flagship.

During the Fall of Earth, the Dardanus was tasked with ensuring that none of Earth's vessels escaped the battlefield, a task that it performed diligently, but took severe damage in the process. Though the vessel survived the battle, and was able to conduct emergency repairs, it was lost to enmeshment during the jump back to the Arc System.

Namesake

The SFCV Dardanus (B3) is named for the legendary king Dardanus, the son of the Greek god Zeus, and Electra, the daughter of a Titan (Atlas) and an Oceanid nymph (Pleione).
