History
The SFCV Coeus (FF5) was laid down at The Hive, on Sanctuary, in the Arc System, in 2020 CE. It was launched the following year, in 2021 CE, to help escort transports to and from Earth, in the Sol System. The Coeus was distinguished for being the first frigate to take damage from enemy action during the early years of the war. The ship's history was largely undistinguished, until 2031 CE, when it was one of the vessels involved in the Fall of Earth.
Several months later, during a transition in 2032 CE, the Coeus was responsible for helping rescue crew from the SFCV Theia (FF4) when the Theia suffered an enmeshment event on the edge of the Arc system. In 2037 CE, when the Sol system was abandoned, the Coeus was one of the few Archer-class frigates to remain in service while many others were mothballed. The Coeus, however, was eventually lost with most of it's crew while entering the Laeth System, in 2071 CE, while en route to a refit.
Namesake
The SFCV Coeus (FF5) was named for one of the Greek mythological Titans.
