Blacksmith-class fleet auxiliary operated by
Space Forces Command.
History
The SFCV Chiyo Amagatsu (MFA-02) was laid down in 2083 CE, in orbit over Arxune, in the Laeth System. The Amagatsu was completed and commissioned in 2085 CE, to operate in support of fleet vessels. Primarily much of it's use was seen during the Sovereign Colonies Conflict, and in aiding civilian vessels that were in distress due to ordinary wear and tear or orbiting debris.
Following the disaster in the Mithus System, the Amagatsu has been primarily deployed in orbit over Dwyn to aid in repairs and reconstruction, even decades after the disaster.
Namesake
The SFCV Chiyo Amagatsu (MFA-02) was named for Chiyo Amagatsu. Chiyo Amagatsu was the daughter of a pair of Japanese immigrants to The Initiative. By the time she was in her late twenties, she had helped design several new pieces of military equipment, and begun working on the Jormungand-class Mobile Mining Platform, which she finished the year after the vessel bearing her name was completed.
