History
The SFCV Atlantis (C26) was laid down at The Hive on Sanctuary in 2029 CE, and commissioned the following year. Atlantis would serve as a troop transport and support vessel, being used to evacuate the most badly wounded soldiers from Earth as needed, and supporting some of the larger-scale ground operations with orbit-to-surface bombardments.
The Atlantis would be briefly mothballed between 2048 CE and 2049 CE to provide crew to another vessel. It would return to service in mid-2049, and would remain in service until 2132 CE when it was mothballed at the Aradesh Deep Space Storage Depot.
Namesake
The SFCV Atlantis (C26) was named for the mythical city of Atlantis, which first appeared in Greek legends on Earth.
