The CSPS Rosewall (AC1), formerly the SFCV Rosewall (C1) is a decommissioned Swordsman-class cruiser, operated by a civilian crew as a merchant vessel and a member of the Civilian System Patrol in the Arc System.
History
Commissioned in 2021 CE, the SFCV Rosewall (C1) is the oldest cruiser in human space, with almost four hundred years of service. Launched early on during the War of Secession, the SFCV Rosewall, unlike later other vessels in the Swordsman-class, was not originally intended as a dedicated warship. However, a series of rapid modifications converted it to a warship, and allowed it to go into battle against the United Earth Fleet's cruisers. It survived the war, and the Fall of Earth, only to be pressed into service shepherding troop and colony transports to and from Sanctuary. When the Sol System was eventually closed off, the Rosewall was put into service carrying supplies, messages, and personnel to and from the newly established colonies. It served in this capacity until 2128 CE, one-hundred and seven years after it was commissioned, when the cost of maintaining and upgrading it was deemed too costly, and it was decommissioned in favor of the new Samurai-class cruisers. At that time it was partially demilitarized, with sensitive systems being removed, before it was sold to an interstellar company, for use hauling relief shift workers to and from more distant mines, with the provision that it would join the Civilian System Patrol.
Namesake
The SFCV Rosewall (C1) was named for one of the first new human settlements on Sanctuary, the city of Rosewall.

Alterations
As a partially demilitarized vessel, several of the
Rosewall's gun batteries have been hobbled, and it's torpedo tubes welded shut. The removal of most of it's torpedo launching capability has led to the former magazines being converted to extra storage space.
