The SFCV Ginnungagap (C8) was a Swordsman-class cruiser launched during the War of Secession. It was one of the first warships to be lost to enmeshment.

History

The SFCV Ginnungagap (C8) was laid down at The Hive in 2021 CE, and launched in 2022 CE. It would serve with First Fleet throughout the War of Secession, until after the Fall of Earth. It would be lost with all hands due to an enmeshment event while escorting a convoy from Earth to Sanctuary in 2032 CE.

Namesake

The SFCV Ginnungagap (C8)was named for a piece of Norse mythology, Ginnungagap ("gaping abyss", "yawning void") is the primordial void.
