The SFCV Almace (X/CB1-01) is the lead ship of the Paladin-class Battlecruisers.

History

The SFCV Almace (X/CB1-01) was laid down in 2490 CE at a secret shipyard over Charadan, in the Charyn System. Initial fitting out was completed, and a shakedown cruiser including through the Charyn System and the neighboring Aradesh System. Once completed, the battlecruiser was redesignated to CB1-01, and commissioned into the fleet. It would join First Fleet as one of the lead combatants.

Namesake

Almace was the name of a sword from the ancient French literature "Song of Roland", following one of the generals of Charlemagne.

Alterations

The SFCV Almace (XCB1-01) initially included a number of non-standard interior modifications made during test. While most of were modified to the specifications of the rest of the vessels, some still remain, giving the Almace a slightly different interior layout.
