The SFCV
Eclipse (BB2-01) is the first second-generation
Praetorian-class Battleship, originally launched in
2352 CE. It serves as one of the major combatants of
Third Fleet.
History
The SFCV Eclipse (BB2-01) began it's life intended as a new class of vessel, but because technical problems, Central Command opted to utilize spare parts in the construction, with a number of upgrades intended for the second generation. The Eclipse was completed in less than a year, and after several months for a shakedown cruise, the Eclipse was commissioned.
Following it's commissioning, the Eclipse was detailed as the flagship of the Third Fleet, and assigned to patrol duties along the outer colonies, hunting for pirates. In 2431 CE, when an asteroid severely damaged the ecosystem of Dwyn, the Eclipse and the Third Fleet were chosen by Space Forces Command to support the System Defense Force in restoring order.
