The SFCV Vígríðr (C15) was a Swordsman-class cruiser built during the War of Secession.

History

The SFCV Vígríðr (C15) was laid down at The Hive on Sanctuary in 2023 CE. It would be commissioned in 2024 CE, to join First Fleet. The Vígríðr served without distinction during the War of Secession, detached to operate over the Atlantic, bombarding enemy air and sea traffic.

Following the Fall of Earth, the Vígríðr was responsible for picking up colonists from several of the Pacific islands, before helping ship them back to Sanctuary. It would make several trips, before it withdrew back to the Arc System when the Sol System was abandoned in 2037 CE. The Vígríðr would remain active until 2130 CE when it was decommissioned.

Namesake

The SFCV Vígríðr (C15) was named for an area told of in Norse mythology, a battlefield named Vígríðr or Óskópnir is where Ragnarok, the end of the world.
