Vorota Zari (PO1-07) is the orbital platform over Arkadia, in the Egiyr System. It serves as orbital control for ships coming to or from the planet.

History

Construction on Vorota Zari began in early 2487 CE, with the station going online later that year. The station was constructed due to increasing numbers of inbound and outbound vessels as Arkadia grew, requiring an orbital platform to serve as orbital control and as a transfer point for passengers and cargo without requiring a trip down to the surface of the planet.

Namesake

Vorota Zari roughly translates to "The Gates of Dawn" in Russian, a language spoken on Earth prior to the Fall. It was named in part for it's orbital position, where it is visible from the colony's capitol city at dawn. There was a similarly named gate on Earth, in the city of Vilnius, in Lithuania, formerly a Russian territory during the Cold War on Earth in the mid-20th century.
